When I tried to log in, I got the message "Your account has been temporarily disabled."

This happens when a user attempts to log in three or more times using the wrong password. The system locks you out for 30-60 minutes. Wait 30-60 minutes and use the "forgot password" link on the login page to have your password emailed to you. If you still have trouble, contact us.

I have a dial up line at home to access the Internet. Will that work okay with these courses?

A dial up line will definitely cause the courses to run more slowly, but they will run successfully. You will be responsible for any phone usage charges associated with your dial up service.

Users who have Java loaded onto their computers have encountered problems that require changing their settings in Internet Explorer:

  • From the menu bar, select Tools > Internet Options
  • Click on the "Advanced" tab
  • Scroll down to Microsoft VM
  • Enable "Java Console Enabled (requires restart)"

After you restart your machine and go back into Cornerstone, your course should load properly.

When I try to launch a course, it starts to load but then I receive a message stating that my progress will not be saved.

It may be that your computer does not have Java Virtual Machine (JVM) loaded. The courses need JVM to run properly. If you believe this to be the issue in your case, contact your computer support person, to have JVM installed onto your computer. Monster does not support the installation of JVM through our helpdesk. Once you have JVM loaded on your machine the courses will run properly.

Some courses require a specific screen resolution in order to view the full functionality of the course. You will need to adjust your screen resolution settings, to do so:

  • From the Start menu, select Control Panel
  • Double click on Display
  • Click on the "Settings" tab
  • Drag the Screen Resolution slider to 1024 by 768 pixels or more
  • Click "Apply" (your screen will flash)
  • Click "Yes" to accept the new settings
  • Click "OK" to close the Display Properties window

NOTE: As you increase the number of pixels, you display more information on your screen, but the information decreases in size.

Good news! You can take any of these courses in segments. As long as you exit the courses properly (don't just close the browser window), the course will bookmark and remember your progress. The next time you launch the course you will be able to start right where you left off.

What internet browsers are compatible with running my courses?

The courses will run on Internet Explorer 6.x and higher with Java enabled.
